This time around it is Movie Night!

We will be utilizing The Erotic Heritage Museum’s on site movie theater to view Flower & Snake (Hana to Hebi, 2004).

The film is based on an S&M novel written by Oniruku Dan which has reached a cult status in Japan. There have been several prior adaptations of the novel but none before with well known actors and top of the line production and photography.

Meet Shizuko (Aya Sugimoto), an icy beauty who reigns as Japan’s best tango dancer. Repressed in the bedroom, she’s a source of both admiration and frustration to her jittery businessman husband (Renji Ishibashi), who is having some money problems with the local yakuza. The decrepit leader of the loan shark gang takes a fancy to Shizuko and proposes that her husband sell her into sexual bondage to settle his debts, and he agrees. A kidnapping is arranged, and the fun begins.

Intellectually challenging, and edgy this film is Directed by Iakashi Ishii, stars Aya Sugimoto, and features incredible rope work by Arisue Go.

Note: this is a subtitled movie.

Before the film starts we will be gathering for a Peer Meet & Greet.  Join us for some pizza, drinks, and the company of your fellow rope enthusiasts.

  • 2:00 pm – Meet & Greet
